What is medication management?

During medication management at Rural and Health Disparities Psychiatric Services, Linda monitors your current medications to ensure they’re working effectively. She can refill your prescriptions when necessary to best manage mental health conditions.

Linda personalizes a medication regimen that matches your specific needs and offers deprescribing if you’d like to taper off your current medications to take a more holistic approach to mental health care or obesity. 

Which conditions can medication management help treat?

 Do some people need medications? Sometimes, yes they do, but we also need to rule out what your nutrition and health look like. Many people I see are very sick physically and need to first address what they are eating and doing which profoundly impacts their mental health. After that, then we can look at medications in a thoughtful way.

Is medication management right for me?

When you meet with Linda at Rural and Health Disparities Psychiatric Services, she completes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation using DSM-5 criteria. 

She discusses your physical and mental health history, moods, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. 

 The first intervention ideally is looking at your nutrition and provide a guided nutritional journey. Most providers will prescribe medications bypasssing this crutial step. Many people intuitively know this is the case, but do not know exactly how to do it!

What can I expect during medication management?

Rural and Health Disparities Psychiatric Services focuses on holistic and integrative care. We will see if you’re a candidate for deprescibing and the need for maintaining  medication management at the lowest possible dose.
